If there’s one place I love to visit, it’s Las Vegas. Granted, I like to gamble, particularly craps, but even non-gamblers out there will find this city to be truly unmatched in the world. A lot of places in the world have gambling, but Vegas truly shines in a wide variety of areas.
First, you won’t see the massive amounts of mega hotels like you see on The Strip anywhere else. The Strip is just one mega-resort after another. Each casino hotel has its own theme, but they all have fantastic spas, huge casinos, shows, and a wide array of restaurants.
If you are from Europe, then I especially recommend Vegas. The casinos in Europe are puny compared to Vegas casinos. They generally have at most one restaurant, instead of every food under the sun like Vegas casinos have. Also, European casinos are much more boring and small than Vegas casinos. This is because in Europe, gambling tends to be government monopolies, so there is maybe one or a few casinos per city, instead of casinos being on top of another like they are in Nevada.
In short, when people think of ‘must visit’ places during their lifetimes, they generally think of New York, Paris, and maybe a natural wonder like Hawaii. I think Vegas should be added to this list. It is truly a man-made superwonder of indulgence.
